WOOF Ranch Dog Park Construction Story
Resident participation is critical to the health of any neighborhood, and this year Wolf Ranch was fortunate to
have the ideas and efforts of several residents make Wolf Ranch a better place to live. Back in 2007, Drew Kosmowski submitted the idea of a dog park in Wolf Ranch, and even coined the name “WOOF Ranch.”

Even though that plan never got off the ground at the time,
this year three young men who live in Wolf Ranch helped
make “WOOF Ranch” a reality. The Hullings boys, members
of Boy Scout Troop 62, decided to build a dog park as their

Eagle Scout projects. Brothers Zachary, 17, Josh, 15 and Jake, 13, approached Ralph Braden with their idea for a dog park. Ralph immediately saw this as an opportunity to bring Drew’s, “WOOF Ranch” idea to life. Even though Drew was deployed for a time, Wolf Ranch never forgot about his idea.

Supported by the love of their parents, Kristi and Dean, Zachary designed and built the fencing for a large dog area, small dog area, and a section for agility; Josh designed and built the nine pieces of agility equipment, after extensive research; and Jake designed and built 6 benches, a bulletin board and leash dock for hanging leashes. Plans are still moving forward to display a donor recognition board, but finalization is on hold to see if any additional donors need to be added.

Thanks to a neighborhood family, “WOOF Ranch” is a place where dogs and their best friends can play.
